What were the people of Corinth commanded to do “if any had caused grief”?

They were commanded to forgive them. Also we are to confirm our love for them and comfort them. These things all come a lot easier to do if you are keeping the commandments and following our latter day council.

What blessings do we see when we forgive?

There are so many blessings that are given to us when we truly forgive both ourselves and others. Some of these are forgiveness for our own sins, Christ like love and compassion towards others, greater love for everyone around is and the knowledge and experience of the atonement and how it works in our lives.

What is the danger in failing to forgive?

The dangers in failing to forgive would be first of all not forgiven and we will have to deal with that pain later on. You will be condemned before the lord. We have the greater sin than the one who is asking our forgiveness when we don’t forgive others.

To forgive is a divine attribute. It is to pardon or excuse someone from blame for an offense or misdeed. The scriptures refer to forgiveness in two ways. The Lord commands us to repent of our sins and seek His forgiveness. He also commands us to forgive those who offend or hurt us.

Choice 6: The Sacrament

Read Luke 22:19 and identify the important word Luke used in describing the sacrament that Nephi also used but Paul did not.

The important word that Luke used to describe the sacrament is ‘remembrance’. Jesus introduced the sacrament to his apostles so they would remember him. Every Sunday we partake of the sacrament and remember him.

Remembrance means: The act or process of remembering, The state of being remembered, Something serving to celebrate or honor the memory of a person or event; a memorial, The length of time over which one's memory extends, Something remembered; a reminiscence.

What is different between what is taught in 1 Corinthians 11:27-29 and 3 Nephi 18:28-29 with regard to the counsel about when to not partake of the sacrament?
In 1 Corinthians 11:27-29 It focuses on the importance of examining oneself before partaking of the sacrament, but in 3 Nephi 18:28-29 it doesn’t mention that. Nephi does talk about how he wants to make sure the leaders are making sure that the sacrament isn’t partaken unworthily. It also says that whoever takes the sacrament and is unworthy, will be guilty of your own body and blood of the Lord. 

What did Paul teach that explains why we don’t want to partake of the sacrament unworthily?

Paul explains to us that the sacrament is a communion of the blood of Christ. When we partake of the sacrament unworthily, we are taking the Lord’s sacrifice lightly, and are mocking Him.

What can you do to make the sacrament a more meaningful experience in your life both on Sundays and during the week?

I can make the sacrament a more meaningful experience by really reflecting on my week and how Christ hand was in my life. Think of all the things that he helped me with and gave me strength to do that I couldn’t do myself. Also I can think of ways to serve others better in the following week. I can try to work harder on goals and be better each week.

A missionaries purpose is to “invite others to come unto Christ be helping them receive the restored Gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end” (Preach My Gospel).

1.    1 thess 2:2 Speak the gospel boldly

Missionaries need to pray daily for the people they teach and do service for. They need to pray that they might love those who they come in contact with. Missionaries must always remember who they represent and act accordingly. People watch the way you dress, act, and speak.  To be a powerful missionary like Paul they need to have the constant companionship of the Holy Ghost. The Holy Ghost is essential in missionary work and is how our Heavenly Father communicates with us and our investigators. The Holy Ghost brings power to our messages and power enough to motivate and inspire our brothers and sisters to receive the Gospel.

Acts 13: 1-5: How to help a discouraged missionary                                                                 

There are many things that you can do but in the reading there were a few that

stuck out to me. Some of these are: Know that the Holy Ghost will lead you, Fast, ask for a

blessing.

              Barnabas was a Son of consolation, a Levite of Cyprus, who sold his possessions and gave the proceeds to the apostles, convert to the church and gave all to follow the Christ. He and Saul were like companions. He wasn’t technically one of the twelve, but he was considered an apostle. He helped and encouraged Paul. I think that is a great blessing that the Lord provides by sending missionaries out two by two. I think that it keeps missionaries safe and doing what they are supposed to do and helps them stay focused with someone else there as an example.

                               

        -While Paul was at Lystra healed a man who was crippled from his mother’s womb. The people saw the miracle and thought that Paul and Barnabas are the gods. Paul told the people that they are men just like them and praise God.

 —  Acts 14:8-13: Paul is looked upon as a god the people knew.

—  Acts 14:19-22. In these verses he nearly stoned to death. Paul taught, “that we must through much tribulation enter the kingdom of God.” And he lived this principle by continuing on in faith no matter what the trials and things that he went through.

 

PENTECOST

WHAT IS THE PENTECOST?

The Pentecost was a Jewish celebration held every year fifty days after the Passover. Jesus gave the sacrament to his Apostles at the Last Supper, which happened at the time of the Passover.
